Lecture Title: Immune-mediated reprogramming of host energy metabolism in malaria
Prof. Ricardo T. Gazzinelli is the Director of Center for Vaccine Technology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brasil, and Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He received his post-doctoral training at the National Institute of Infectious Disease and Allergy. His research focuses in understanding the role of innate immune receptors and immunometabolism in the pathophysiology of malaria. He also coordinates a program for the development of vaccines for neglected tropical diseases and respiratory viral infections.
